It’s almost summer and we seriously cannot wait. Beach vacays, short shorts, not having to make up a lame excuse to eat ice cream—summer is just about the best season around. But before we get to have our fun in the sun, there’s a lot to do. We’re not worried, though because these stress relief tips are the real deal!
With looming finals, papers and college prep, pre-summer is full of important activities that stress us out. Luckily, April is National Stress Awareness Month. What perfect timing!
So, what can we do to make it through the pre-summer stress season without shedding a tear? Self-love, squishies and a light beach-body prep course—which we were totally going to do anyway.
Stress Relief Tip #1: Make time for yourself

When you’re stressed about all of these outside forces, it’s easy to forget that you are more important than whatever has you stressed out. That’s why it’s so crucial to make time for yourself. Decompress with yoga, board games with your friends, a podcast or album you love, a face mask and a fizzy bath bomb, or whatever you most enjoy. Relaxation and self-love are totally key. Take some time and remind yourself that all these things going on, they have nothin’ on you!
Stress Relief Tip #2: Find a healthy outlet

When you’re stressed, it’s common to feel all of your pent up anxiety hiding just under the surface. Relax that busy brain by turning to a squishy (really!). Squeezing a stress toy occupies your mind and creates a positive outlet for negative energy. These crushable cuties are the perfect addition to your desk and a must-carry in your bag because not only are they fun to play with, they provide the perfect mental break on a busy day.
Stress Relief Tip #3: Exercise

Exercise may be our number three tip, but it’s the #1 thing you can do to help combat stress. Exercise doesn’t just help get us ready for long days by the pool in high-cut one-piece bathing suits, it boosts confidence, reduces physical tension and burns off the stress-related hormones that are turning your internal monologue into a bad soap opera. Best of all, any exercise is good exercise, so do something you enjoy like rock climbing, running, kickboxing or going out dancing with your girls (yup, that’s a totally acceptable exercise!).
The takeaway: Everyone gets stressed sometimes, so when you’re feeling overwhelmed say “bye-bye” to bad feelings by remembering to relax and treat yo’self! 🎵🍦👟
